In honor of July 4th, we’d like to highlight our #AMERICAN pride. Did you know? Tchoup bag materials are proudly sourced within the USA and as close to home (New Orleans) as possible. In fact, we use lots of Louisiana materials such as hand woven fabrics, alligator leather, repurposed rice bags, and custom stainless steel hooks. (Watch our “Meet Your Maker” video with Daron Douglas, who weaves each one of our beautiful panels from her grandmother’s loom in Gentilly, Louisiana.) Here is a map showing where our materials come from around the states:
Since such a big part of Tchoup’s raison d’etre is about producing locally, we are proud to be partnered with two awesome organizations that support all-American brands like our own.
Tchoup is a member of American Made Matters whose mission is “to educate consumers that buying USA-made products strengthens the American dream.”
Tchoup is also an affiliate of The M.I.A. Project, the “epicenter for a new wave of American design and production” that celebrates designers who are producing in the USA.
Lastly, we’d like to add that our Recycled Wool Roulez Pack has been featured on WeShopAmerican.com, a blog about stylish products made in America. WeShopAmerican even went behind-the-scenes at our Tchoup studio to create a documentary about our mission regarding locally sourced materials. Watch the documentary here.
Happy 4th of July, y’all!! Tag @tchoupbags with #tchouptravels this friday to show us how you are celebrating the holiday!
